Best Vacuum Cleaner - Which Is It?

Which is the best vacuum cleaner? That's the thousand dollar question faced by consumers everyday. Vacuum cleaners have been around for a long time and the best vacuum cleaner depends on what you want out of it.

This invention, in its early form, was a heavy, noisy and cumbersome piece of equipment that was not so versatile and didn’t have too much power in relation to its size.

Like everything else in the twentieth century, vacuum cleaners over the years seemed to get smaller, better, more powerful and cheaper over the years.

Nowadays you can buy a vacuum cleaner that will do great job for you for a very minor outlay.

If you ever go to a car wash or get your carpets cleaned you will see people working with professional vacuum cleaners that look like they have just landed from another planet.

They are big, they are powerful and they make an awful lot of noise but are they the best vacuum cleaners money can buy.

Sure they get the job done. They can suck up dust and water and get into every nook and cranny of your home or your car and no speck of dust is safe against this monster.

They can even vacuum away water, without doing any damage to their mechanisms.
On the other hand there are little hand held vacuum cleaners that you can buy, that are very deceptive because they are also very powerful. Ideal for car interiors, they can even draw their power from the car battery, through an attachment to the cigarette lighter. Are these the best vacuum cleaners on the market?

These vacuum cleaners are not usually sold in electrical outlets, instead you can pick them up at car accessory centers or home depot type stores.

These vacuum cleaners are the exceptions. Most home vacuum cleaners are pretty straightforward and simple to operate.
One example of the strength of brand awareness is the Hoover Company who in their hayday probably manufactured the best vacuum cleaners at the time.

Hoover for many years was by far and away the biggest company in the United States in electrical domestic products, and especially vacuum cleaners. So much so that there were a lot of people that didn’t call their vacuum cleaner a vacuum cleaner, they called it a “Hoover”.

This gave the impression that Hoover vacuum cleaners were probably the best vacuum cleaners in the market. This may well have been the case. Hoover cleaners do still take their fair share of the market but there are some pretty strong competitors about these days.
